How to Get a Library Card
The Bunker Hill Public Library offeres a variety of services for our Patrons. We have an Online Catalog that you can browse through and request titles and have them shipped to our building where you can pick them up as long as you have your library card and passcode. Your passcode is defaulted to the last 4 digits of your phone number that is on file. If you have problems, contact the Library.
If you do not currently have a library card, you can stop into our building and obtain one with two forms of identification. A current and valid ID with your name and photo, and one additional proof of residency - such as a piece of mail containing both your name and current address. Kids can obtain their own library cards with their parent's permission - the forms of identification will need to be in the parent's name.
The Bunker Hill Public Library also has free WiFi and computers for public use.
You DO NOT have to have a library card to use these services.
How to use eBooks
eBooks are very similar to checking out books through a Library Branch. There are a limited number of copies and sometimes waiting lists. If a book is unavailable at that moment, you may add your name to the Hold List and you will be notified when the book becomes available.
Once you check out an ebook, it will remain on your device for 3 weeks. Once the 3 weeks are up, the title will automatically disappear off of the device, so no worries about late fees. You cannot renew ebooks, but you can return them early.
The 3M Cloud Library App is available to download through most devices.
Apple - iTunes
Android - Google Play
Nook - Barnes & Noble
PC or Mac - ebook.3m.com
Kindle Fire -
This is what the App should look like!
Once downloaded, log in using your library card and passcode. Your passcode is the last 4 digits of the phone number that is on file. If you have problems with this, contact the Library.
Be sure to select Illinois Heartland Library System!
You are now free to download, read, and request eBooks.
If you have any questions or difficulties downloading the App,
contact Kelsey at the Library.
Become a Volunteer
The Bunker Hill Public Library is always looking for Volunteers to help out in the Library. There are many opportunites to help out. Just to name a few would be reshelving books, alphabetizing the books on the sheves, and sorting through donated books.
Our biggest volunteering need is someone willing to take over the Family Nights at the Library. They will be hosted two nights per month. The Library will cover all expenses assosciated with the crafts. The Volunteer will be in charge of planning and hosting the events with the help and approval of the Library Director.
